Ask your AI assistant about any IRONMAN race

metrica runs a free MCP server — a small connector you add to Claude or ChatGPT once. After that, your AI assistant can pull real race information from metrica straight into the conversation: course and typical race-day weather, fueling, and IRONMAN World Championship (Kona) qualification results. Ask in plain language; the assistant fetches the data and answers.

What it can tell you

Race guides
Course distances & elevation, a written course/pacing summary, and downloadable GPX tracks (swim/bike/run).
Typical weather
10-year climatology: air & water temperature, wind, and how likely a wetsuit-legal swim is.
Fueling
Per-hour carbohydrate, sodium and fluid targets, scaled to race distance, heat and your body mass.
Kona qualification
Who qualified at an event, age-graded times, the qualifying time per category, and slot rolldown — across 287+ events.

Connect in Claude

    Open Connectors settings
    In Claude (claude.ai or the desktop app), go to Settings → Connectors.

    Add a custom connector
    Click Add custom connector, paste the endpoint above, and name it metrica.

    Save. metrica’s tools are now available to Claude.

    Ask about a race
    Start a chat and ask something like “Using metrica, is IRONMAN Nice usually wetsuit-legal?”

Custom connectors need a paid Claude plan; on Team/Enterprise an admin may need to allow them.

Connect in ChatGPT

Custom MCP connectors require a paid plan and are rolling out — menu names may differ; see your assistant’s connector docs if something has moved.

Weather figures are a 10-year climatology (typical, not a forecast). Qualification is modelled with the WTC age-group multipliers — confirm against the official allocation. metrica is not affiliated with or endorsed by the IRONMAN Group.
